    Hello Organic
Elzinga & Hoeksema Greenhouses, one of southwest Michigan's largest commercial greenhouse growers, has constructed one of the country's first USDA-certified-organic commercial greenhouses built from the ground up.

The new 4-acre Kalamazoo greenhouse will supply over 1.3 million organic vegetable and herb potted plants to Meijer retail stores throughout the Midwest in 2008, significantly broadening the organic offerings in the Meijer garden center.

World organic food sales are exploding, jumping from $23 billion in 2002 to $40 billion in 2006.  Since 1990, the market for organic products has grown at a rapid pace of 20-25 percent per year.

E&H has the largest solar thermal system in the Midwest.  Mark Elzinga, greenhouse owner and visionary, challenges Michigan businesses and individuals to undertake eco-friendly practices as a matter of social responsibility.
