CREDIT & COLLECTIONS ANALYST

SUMMARY: Responsible for processing customer credit inquiries, approving credit terms and collection of delinquent accounts.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following examples:

  • Initiates and responds to credit verifications for client accounts.  Verifies credit worthiness for prospective clients.
  • Maintains sub-ledger to ensure they balance to the general ledger.
  • Prepares Co-Op invoices. 
  • Investigates discrepancies on sales contracts to invoices and follows up until resolved. 
  • Prepares data for closing journal entries month end, quarter, and year end. 
  • Works with agencies and/or sales personnel regarding discrepancies; prepares credit memos to adjust for variances. 
  • Works with local and national credit and collection agencies. 
  • Makes necessary collection calls and sends dunning letters to clients whose accounts are in arrears.
  • Prepares paperwork for civil court (small claims court) on local delinquent accounts and represents the company at hearings as necessary.
  • Responsible for Accounts Receivables and Web-App. reporting.
  • Calculates monthly sales commissions.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with sales staff, clients, agencies, and other station personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Three years experience with A/R and Collections required. 
College Degree preferred.  A combination of education, and experience will be considered.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively with station personnel, clients, and other credit personnel in such a manner as to maintain a good station image. Requires exposure and awareness of the general principles of accounting and business law which apply to credit and collections.
