Saturday, August 23rd

Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History
                                    Fire Ball 2008
Contemporary Friends 3rd Annual Signature Event

Red Carpet, Spotlights, Hot Entertainment, Dancing, Private Cabanas and Celebrities – all part of an incredible experience called the Fire Ball.

The Contemporary Friends of the Charles H. Wright African American Museum (MAAH), an auxiliary of the museum, created a national network of supporters with the inaugural Fire Ball event. Fire Ball 2008 promises to increase the sizzle in this one-of-a-kind celebration to benefit the museum.

The Fire Ball is an annual fundraiser to support the acquisition and expansion of quality exhibits, and will serve to build exposure and membership within the 45 and under age group. Because Black history has evolved significantly over the last forty years, the function and obligation of the museum must remain a valuable and recognized national treasure.

The Contemporary Friends will once again host its signature event, Fire Ball 2008. The event will occur Saturday, August 23rd at the Colony Club in Detroit, Michigan. The Colony Club is located at 2310 Park Avenue, Detroit, MI 48201.

Tickets are $150 and can be purchased HERE or by calling the Fire Ball Hotline at (866) 444-2621

Special host, Kenny Burns, DJ Mick Boogie
