Nipa Shah is a frequent contributor to Street Beat.  As one of Street Beat's Community Correspondents, she reports on activities of interest in the Asian Indian community in Metro Detroit.

Nipa is a native of India and moved to Michigan 23 years ago as a result of an arranged marriage.  She jokes that when she came to the US she didn't know a computer from a toaster oven.  Yet, she has spent more than 18 years working at a fortune 500 company and is a technology expert. In 2004, she started Jenesys Group, LLC, ( www.jenesysgroup.com ), an Online Marketing and Web solutions company and does business globally.

Last year she also started the Michigan India Chamber of Commerce and is focused on creating a unified voice for the Asian Indian community in Michigan.  She lives in Novi with her husband and two teenage kids.
