Being a twenty-something these days is gettin' kinda weird. The Y Generation…I guess that's what we're called. Apparently there are a lot of us. We're as big as the Baby Boomer generation.  But where do we fit, in this new society? There are a lot of us going to college these days and then wandering aimlessly through life afterwards. Trying to find our purpose. Trying to find something that makes us happy.

I'm luckier than a lot of people, because I LOVE TV, and I found a job that allows me to be a part of something I am so passionate about. All around me though, I see my friends struggling to find their way through the maze. The ones who are lucky enough to find a job (and not get laid off within the first month) are entirely overqualified for the positions they are in and are usually under-challenged, which creates a generation of boredom. We twenty-somethings have been over-stimulated to death with all the media we've grown-up with. Everyday we absorb so much communication, it's amazing we can still think…but we do. Even with all the TV, gaming, movies, magazines, music, Internet sites that we use; we still want more and more. I am amazed with the amount of random crap I can store in my brain. Interesting crap, though. It has to be interesting or it's not worth storing in the brain.

So, our over-stimulation has made us eternally bored. What do we do? That's a question I don't think I can answer. Maybe every once in awhile we need to slow down and enjoy a singular moment. Yeah right! I'm listening to my iPhone, writing a blog, and drinking coffee right now. There are no singular moments in a twenty-something's life. Who has time to do things one at a time? I think the only thing we can do is let the rest of the world try to catch up with us.
